Kurukshetra, August 23-Dr. Madan Mohan Goel, Professor & Chairman, Dept. of economics. Kurukshetra University stands relieved from his present duties. He is to join prestigious assignment of Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) Chair of Indian economy as Visiting Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul ( Korea ). ICCR runs a prestigious programme to propagate Indian Studies abroad. Towards this end, ICCR deputes Professors to the chairs of Indian Studies set up by it in various renowned foreign Universities. Professor Goel has been issued diplomatic passport which requires no visa to travel abroad.
Professor Goel has been teaching and guiding research in Economics of Human Resource Development & Indian Economy since 33 years. He has also worked as Chairman Dept. of Journalism, KUK.
Earlier, Professor Goel was conferred Rotary Foundation Award for international understanding in 1983 which provided him the opportunity to represent India in USA , UK and Canada . He is a recipient of two gold medals for standing first class first in M. Phil (Economics) and PGDJMC. Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akedemi, Delhi has honoured him with Dr. Ambedkar Fellowship Award in 2003. He has 149 publications including three books to his credit. Some of his publications are listed in references for various courses of KUK. He has successfully guided 11 Ph.D. and 25 M. Phil Scholars . He has also done one major research project. He has established his credentials in economic journalism and development communication as Chief Editor “Kautilya”, a member Editorial Board of International Journal Indian Culture and Business Management (IJICBM), member of the editorial Board of Journal of Haryana Studies and editorial adviser economic dateline.
