
Kurukshetra- “Let Ambedkar be known to the World as an outstanding economist deserving recognition more than a noble prize in economics,” observed Professor (Dr.) M.M.Goel, Convener, Intellectual Cell of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) & Chairman , Department of Economics, Kurukshetra University here today. The tributes were paid to Bharat Ratan Dr. B.R Ambedkar on his death anniversary here today in Congress Bhawan Sector 13 at the monthly meeting presided over by Shri Sahib Singh Saini working President District Congress Committee.
To save the Indian economy from the fiscal crisis of today caused by the so called global economic crisis, it would be relevant to adopt the canons of public expenditure advocated by Ambedkar, said Professor Goel.
He further said that the Governments at all levels should spend the resources garnered from the public not only according to rules, laws and regulations, but should also see that ‘faithfulness, wisdom and Economy’ the principles advocated by Ambedkar.
The remarkable thing about Ambedkar’s canons of public expenditure is that they are ism-neutral. One can follow a policy of a large or small public sector and yet the principles behind these canons are applicable, said Professor Goel.
Earlier all the leaders of the congress party present on the occasion paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
Shri Sahib Singh Saini , Dr. Subash Sharma. Mrs. Pravesh Rana, Mr. Yash Pal Narang , Ms. Rajinder Kaur Mimsa, Mrs. ravinder kaur, Advocate M.S. Tanwar and Shri Baljeet Singh were present on the occasion.
