“To become job creators instead of job seekers, we need to develop entrepreneurial skills among management students. There is a strong case for the generalization of management education instead of the so called specialization which requires remedial steps to face the challenges of an era of continuous change in business environment. Change is the law of nature. Every thing should change except the love for change. But the changes in India are taking place so rapidly that anything becomes obsolete after certain period of time”, observed Professor (Dr.) M.M. Goel, Chairman Dept. of Economics, Kurukshetra University while addressing the management students of Shree Siddhivinayak Group, Shahpur (Bilaspur) here today. He was delivering the extension lecture on ‘Excellence Models for Entrepreneurs in Post Reform Era’.
Recalling the success story of late Shri O.P. Jindal- a self made industrialist, ‘A Man of Steel’ Professor Goel appealed the Haryana Government to include his story of vision, hard work and wealth of victory in courses of study for entrepreneurship at the graduate level which will always be a motivation for self employment to unemployed youth for all times to come.
To solve the problem of unemployment, the only solution is developing entrepreneurship at small level and self-employment opportunities. This requires the motivation of youth for self-employment and entrepreneurial skills for maximizing the economic, social and environmental benefits to the people for optimal resource utilization.
We need to create the equality of opportunity coming from education, skills and jobs for men and women who needs to modify their mental make up in present era of competition both healthy as well as unhealthy at all levels, said Professor Goel.
A trainer and motivator of repute for management professionals Professor Goel believes that crisis of faith and ethics in marketing are the root causes of deteriorating marketing standards and are serious issues of concern for polluting relationship between marketer and the customer of today. Earlier Dr. R.S. Wadhawan, Director of the Institute introduced and welcomed Professor Goel. The main objective of the entrepreneurial development programmes is to provide necessary guidance relating to enterprise launching and its successful running besides enhancing the entrepreneurial skills among the participants stated Dr. Wadhawan in a press release.
